This interdisciplinary program explores the relationship between exercise, nutrition, and overall wellness, emphasizing evidence-based practices that can be applied in both personal and professional environments. Students will be immersed in areas such as human physiology, nutrition, exercise psychology, and motor learning.
The program's structure typically includes core courses that cover key topics like exercise physiology, program design, and wellness coaching, along with elective courses that allow students to specialize in areas of interest. Studying in the US offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field and to participate in cutting-edge research. In addition, networking opportunities with professionals and organizations dedicated to health and wellness are abundant, allowing students to foster valuable connections for future employment. Upon graduation, students will be well-equipped to contribute to the growing field of exercise science and wellness, advocating for healthy lifestyles and informed choices.
Applicants typically need to hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as exercise science, kinesiology, or health sciences. Academic performance in undergraduate studies is considered, and relevant work experience in health or fitness is highly valued. Additionally, letters of recommendation and a personal statement regarding the candidate’s career goals in wellness and exercise science are often required.
International students must demonstrate proficiency in English through standardized tests such as TOEFL or IELTS. Generally, a TOEFL score of around 80 (iBT) or an IELTS score of 6.5 is expected. However, some flexibility may be offered based on the applicant’s educational background and experience in English-speaking environments.
International students are required to obtain an F-1 visa for study in the US. After acceptance into the program, students will receive an I-20 form, which is necessary to apply for the F-1 visa. Additionally, students must register in the SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) to comply with US immigration regulations.
