The Master's Degree in World Music at the California Institute of the Arts offers a comprehensive exploration of diverse musical traditions from around the globe. Entry requirements

Applicants for the Master's Degree in World Music are typically expected to have a bachelor's degree in music or a related field. A strong background in performance, theory, or ethnomusicology is desirable. Submission of a portfolio demonstrating musical proficiency and experience, as well as a statement of purpose outlining the applicant's interests and goals, is often required.

English:

Non-native English speakers are usually required to demonstrate proficiency in English. A minimum score on the TOEFL test of 80 (iBT) or an IELTS score of 6.5 is generally accepted for admission.

International students:

International students must obtain an F-1 visa to study in the United States. Upon acceptance, the university will provide an I-20 form required for visa application, and students must also maintain SEVIS compliance throughout their studies.
